The startup of the Daily Bread Bakery and Cafe in 1989 coincided with the beginnings of two people's lives together who moved to Montrose, Colorado, from Montana.

It was the hope and dream of David and Margaret Johnson to establish a homey, soft-touch bakery in downtown Montrose with good home cooking and old-fashioned baking. David and Margaret's dreams and hopes are now part of your reality and enjoyment.

Since the opening of the Bakery in 1989, the lives of David and Margaret have been enriched and blessed with six beautiful children; Mahlon Dean, Marie Ann, Marietta Estelle, Maggie Louise, Malachi Osgood, and Madeline Rose.

It is our sincere hope and desire that our family's warmth and ambiance come through our food-service establishment for you to share.
